Ashlyn Boothby, a junior at Scotts Valley High in California, placed second in the girls 1,600-meter final in a lifetime-best 4:39.45 at the CIF State Championships at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Boothby elevated to the No. 12 competitor in state history.
